Over
a very large area, Prestbury's church was the only one licensed for
marriages, and these were so numerous that the church was jocularly
called "The Joiner's Shop". The Admiral Rodney had 2 beds
for travellers and accommodation for supplying refreshments for 100
people. In 1891 Phoebe Ann Clowes lived here with her servant Helen
M.Jackson. In May 1939 the Admiral Rodney was purchased from the Adlington
Hall Estate, by Robinson's Brewery. This fine old inn has lost none
of its charm, and a warm welcome always awaits you from your hosts:
Peter and Gail....Cheers!
